The public transport network in the Ile-de-France region

A highly developed network
The regional transportation network offers a variety of modes with in 2013 : 5 RER lines and 8 lines of trains, 16 subway lines, 6 tram lines and nearly 1,500 buses with 47 Noctilien.
The people have as well for travel 26 450 km of lines (all modes: bus, tube, tram, train and RER), 448 stations (trains and RER), 302 tube stations, 129 tram stations and more than 32 000 bus stops.
In 2011, an innovative new mode of transport is born with the opening of the first line TZen between Sénart and Corbeil.
Large increase of the transport supply since the STIF decentralization
From 2005 to 2010, the public transport supply has greatly increased : + 79% for tram but also + 10% for RER trains, + 8% for tube and + 18% for buses.
Due to the different measures including supply, network usage grows steadily since many years with an increase of the number of journeys per year of nearly 20% between 2000 and 2009 to reach 4 billion in 2009.
Accessibility, a constant effort
The number of buses accessible to disabled people has been multiplied by 2.5 between 2007 and 2010. In early 2010, all buses in Paris have been made accessible and about sixty bus lines in the suburbs.
Since 2010, all the departments benefit from the services of the PAM network , more than 600 000 rides realized in 2010 equal to 1700 travels a day.
